Its winter within

The cold breeze of late November
The old dusty road deserted... Disgrace
With the beggar begging grounds
Concealed excruciation behind every face

The winter reminds the morns of summer..
Torn pages of hope rots and weeps, you can’t even hear
Smiles like creams plastered all over you
Soporific memories make fun of your fear …

The sky never answers the “why me?”
Despoiled puerility searches for you at last
The new born, in your womb still hopes, dreams
But to you, chocolate tastes like lust …

Standing Before Death

5 Ancient Strategies from Bhagavat Gita for Navigating Modern Chaos

Introduction: The Kurukshetra of the 21st Century In the contemporary landscape, we find ourselves at a permanent crossroads—paralyzed by a surplus of choice, gripped by moral anguish, or acting out of a vague sense of unconscious compulsion. This state of "paralysis at the crossroads" is not a modern innovation; it is personified in the story of Prince Arjuna. On the battlefield of Kurukshetra around 3,100 BCE, the greatest warrior of his age lowered his bow and wept, overwhelmed by the prospect of the fight ahead. Arjuna is the 21st-century "everyman," caught between his potential and the habitual patterns that anchor him to the past. The Bhagavad Gita is not a historical account of ancient war, but a distilled operating manual for the "eternal war within" between our highest wisdom and our reactive fears. Today, as the World Health Organization reports that depression is the leading cause of disability worldwide, the Gita's insights offer more than ...
